Dave Jay is a prolific performing songwriter/entertainer for all ages who began writing songs at age 9, imagining himself to be the 5th Monkee. His critically acclaimed one man show, johnpaulgeorgeringo, in which he portrays each of The Beatles, was selected “Outstanding Solo Show” in the 2008 New York International Fringe Festival, followed by successful runs at the Cavern Club (Liverpool, England), the SOHO Playhouse (part of the FringeNYC Encore Series), and the B.B. King Blues Bar in New York City. Dave appeared on ABC TV’s The View as their “Original Song Contest” winner, and injects his original brand of upbeat, melodic, lyric-driven, jazz-tinged pop/rock (a fresh genre he created, known as J’BLAMMO POP) into every performance. In addition to writing and producing original educational songs for IgniteLearning.com, Dave has released a debut CD of children’s music, “Balloon To The Moon.” Dave also donates his time and music to organizations such as The Starlight Foundation, Hospital Audiences, Inc., Music That Heals, United Cerebral Palsy, Brooklyn Services for Autistic Citizens, and Musicians On Call.
